The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Good News

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been rampant.

The first season presents a diverse group of characters residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator stated recently. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season moves, and how many of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a couple people make a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
